Spring decided to show up over the weekend: good news for weather-related depression types, bad news for winter powder hounds and woolly FOs. Not that I’m not excited that Spring skiing is on the way, I’m just wishing I’d had a chance to wear my mittens just once this winter!
These babies were quick; stranded knitting with both yarns held in one hand is super fast once you get the hang of it! I had all kinds of irregularities at the DPN joins when I’d finished but after a good long soak in Eucalan, you can hardly tell. I had JUST enough of the main color (barley) to finish off the second mitten using one skein each of the Rowan Yorkshire Tweed 4-ply, and I have little carny hands (minus the cabbage smell) so get an extra if you plan on using this yarn and have normal-sized hands!

Yup, I’m proud of my mittens.
I am a 20-something knitter, skier, baker, runner, homebrewer, climber and dog lover enjoying a surprisingly sunny first winter in Seattle.

I’m proud of your mittens too! And of my sister. I really like your blog.
You’re really knitting some great stuff these days. Where is my hat???
